The history of our business... Well, let's say it "just grew"!

No, in 1922 Morris Kaplan had no idea that today we would be designing premiere residences both on and offshore! Our company started as many furnishing resources were back in the day: an "Installment" House. We sold folks everything from sheets to baby carriages to "Parlor Sets" and appliances in a small neighborhood called Strawberry Mansion in Philadelphia. People paid weekly, and without the convenience of credit cards - for back then, they didn't exist! Business was done on a handshake, and repeat business is how things worked...some things never change!

Morris handed down the company to his son, Colman Kaplan. After graduating from Annapolis and Penn Law, Colman went into the furniture business when Morris took ill, as moral obligation prevailed. In 1982, Mike Kaplan joined the business upon his graduation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Matt Kaplan joined with Mike in 1995 to further create the prominent residential design and home furnishings stop in all of Philadelphia and vicinity.

We carry numerous resources such as Baker, Century, Henkel-Harris, E.J.Victor, as well as fine leather from companies such as American Leather, Hancock and Moore, and others. We also carry accessories from Maitland-Smith and John Richards just to name a few. Call to check on any line you may have interest in obtaining.
